Larry Doucet

Larry Doucet, age 85, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was a native of Galliano and a resident of Larose.
Larry was survived by his wife of 66 years, Thelma Duet Doucet; son, Larry “Frog” Doucet Jr.; grandchildren, Dapege Doucet, Randy Verdun Jr. and Aaron Verdun; great grandchildren, Presley Verdun, Ainsley Verdun and Ava Doucet.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jelene Doucet Verdun; father, Neville Doucet; mother, Evelina Guidry Doucet; sisters, Clementine “Katin” Doucet Pierce, Una Doucet, Melissere Doucet Collins, Cecelia Doucet Champagne; brothers, Maxine Doucet, Ulysses Doucet and Clarence Doucet.

Larry was a loving husband, father and “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry retired from Halliburton. After retiring, his passion was trawling. He prided himself in helping others and he always could be found riding his lawnmower looking for a grass to cut in his neighborhood. If something needed to be fixed you could always count on him to fix it. He was known as the “Mayor of the Neighborhood”. Larry had a big heart and a smile that will be unforgettable. He will be clearly missed by all whose heart he touched.

Graveside services will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery on Wednesday, June 1st at 11:30 am.
