Landry “Black” Wunstell, 74, a native and resident of Cut Off, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Galliano, from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Blyght Wunstell (Suzanne), Sonya Worley (Tony), and Amy Melancon (Doug); grandchildren, Brock Wunstell, Brance Wunstell, Gracie Louviere, Brooks Wunstell, Kooper Worley, Bray Wunstell, and Will Louviere; brothers, John “Winnie” Wunstell Jr., Troy Wunstell; sisters, Corinne Bourgeois, Nina Guidry and Godchildren, Troy Wunstell, Sadaka Verdin and Darlene Dufrene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Gin” Wunstell; parents, Velma and John M. Wunstell Sr.; brother, Kim Wunstell; and father-in-law, Joseph Plaisance; and mother-in-law, Marie Plaisance.
Black loved to dance and cook. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
