Lamar "Pop" Gene Lowry

Lamar “Pop” Gene Lowry, age 80, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. He was a native of Coushatta and resident of Lockport, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in church cemetery.

Lamar is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita Landry Lowry; son, Joseph “Joey” Lowry and wife, Alexandra “Alex”; brother, Douglas “Doug” Bell and wife, Yvonne; and grandchildren, Riley, Bella and Charlie Lowry.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, Merce and Viola Stephens Bell; and daughter, Crystal Lowry.

Lamar was a retired Marine. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to casino, and spending time with family and friends.
