April 3, 2016, our beloved father, Guy James Labat passed on to be with All his family and friends that left this earth to be with our Lord. He celebrated his 96th birthday on Dec. 11, 2015. He owned his own business for 50 years and after that sold cars. He was an active member of the St. Hilary Chapter of the KC's, Raceland VFW Post 3665 and American Legion Post 349. He was an usher at St. Hilary Church.

He was a WW II Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater with the 37th Division. He fought in many battles from Fiji, Guadalcanal, Bougainville, Phillippine Islands until the war ended. He made many reunions with the 37th Division that were held in Camp Perry, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Hilary Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Guy left behind a blended family that loved and cherished him. There is Ruth and husband Wayne Babin, Andrea and husband Andrew Toups. There is stepson, Mike Hebert and wife Kathy, there is his step daughter-in-law, Mona Hebert, step daughter, Arlene Hebert and companion, Ralph Buchanan and step daughter, Kay and husband Don Zeringue. He had 1 grandson, Paul Babin, 4 step granddaughters, Michele, Alissa, Nicole and Leah, and step great grandchildren, Kelsey and Issac.

abat, his beloved sister, Della Somme Gaudet, his first wife Velma Adam, his second wife, Katherine Hebert and step son Leon Hebert and loving little dog, Fi Fi.

Guy loved his Saints, his Tigers and being behind the bar at Becks! We will all miss that twinkle in his eye and sense of humor. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. We will all meet again! Until we do we will hold you in our hearts.
