Kernest Pierce

Kernest "Coon" Pierce, Sr., a native and resident of Cut Off, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 77. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 10:00 am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 noon with burial following in the Church Cemetery.
Coon is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Pierce; loving daughters, Camilla Pitre and husband Kanky, Karen Wells and husband Chuck, Dolly Callais and husband Gavin; 6 grandchildren, Trey Pitre, Brad Wells and wife Jean, Megan Hebert and husband Matt, Cody Pitre and wife Rael, Blake Wells and companion Darcus, Stephen Callais and wife Meagan and 4 great grandchildren, Bree, Sawyer and Brady Wells and Cecilia Callais.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Alice Pierce; son, Kernest Pierce, Jr. and sister, Amy Chiasson.
Coon is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially when it came to tending to his crawfish ponds. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
