Justilien Joseph Cortez, Sr., 78, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 1:30 PM in Raceland, LA.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Falgout Funeral Homes, Raceland, LA and from 8:00 AM until funeral time Thursday, October 24, 2013 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Justilien Cortez, Jr. and wife Debbie, James Cortez and wife Karon, John Cortez; daughters, Joanne Newchurch and husband Jerry, Louise Sassin and husband Jeff, Sandra Loupe and Glenda Delcambre'; brother, Jerry Cortez, Sr.; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Folse Cortez; parents Ernest Cortez, Sr. and Bernadette Grabert Cortez; brother, Ernest Cortez, Jr. and sister, Earline Ledet.
