Junius "Mutch" J. Eymard, 84, a native of Galliano and resident of Galliano and Cow Island, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Gwendolyn Eymard Pitre and husband, Jesse; grandchildren, Tiffanie Pitre and Kory Pitre and wife, Erica; great-grandchildren, Christian Pitre, Ethan Pitre, and Noah Pitre; brothers, Hilton, Norris, Jervis, Robert, and Aubrey Eymard; and sisters, Janus Bland and Gail Gisclair.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Autin Eymard; parents Eymar and Nativita F. Eymard; brothers, Collin and Roger Eymard; and sisters, Irene Lefort, Cathleen Ledet, and Bernice Doucet.
He was a shrimper and enjoyed building model boats. He loved fishing and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.
