Junel Charles Marcel, 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday, March 30, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dot Marcel; daughters, Deborah M. Bourgeois and Lynne M. Barrilleaux; stepchildren, Cary, Tammy and Steven Guercio; grandchildren, Heidi Manning, Katie Killian, Maddie Barrilleaux, Chris and Adam Bourgeois, Kellie Bishop, Beth Pinel and Jonathan Neal; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Shay Manning, Sawyer Killian, Brandon Bourgeois, Ruby Bishop and Gavin Pinel; and siblings, Norman, Louis and Kurt Marcel, Louise Porche and Alice Clark.He was preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan Paul Marcel and Louise Marie Molaison Marcel; infant daughter, Junella Eve Marcel; and siblings, Ethel Babin, Russell Marcel, Hazel Filce and Rita Porche.Junel was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. He was always willing to lend a helpful hand to anyone.
