Joycelyn Himel Samanie, 86, a native of Chacahoula and a resident of Houma, passed away on December 3, 2018.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM on Thursday, December 6 and from 8 AM until service time on Friday, December 7 at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. A prayer service will be held at 10 AM on Friday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II.
She is survived by her 2 children, Michael (Charlene) Samanie and Deborah (Freddie Jr.) Naquin; brother, Earl Himel; 7 grandchildren, Melissa (Bobby) Rochel, Bridget (Hubert) Mabe, Kelly (Daniel) Conner, Mindy (Ricky) Babin, Nichole (Steve Jr.) Wanko, Jamie (Justin) Adams, Lauren (Kevin) Hand; 15 great-grandchildren, Sadie (Clark) Bergeron, Joseph, Julie and James Mabe, Macy, Lacy, and Jeremy Conner, Trey, Beau, and Brock Wanko, Nathan and Leah Adams, Jolie, Charlotte, and Oliver Hand; 1 great-great-grandchild, Triston Bergeron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Joseph “WJ” Samanie; parents, Harry and Lucille Himel; 4 siblings, Lionel, Ralph, Marian, and Doris Himel.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
