Joycelyn "Joy" Ledet Callais

Joycelyn “Joy” Ledet Callais, 78, native of Golden Meadow and resident of New Iberia, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, October 14th, 2024.

Joy was proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years, Franklin Callais; her parents, Hewitt and Isabelle Ledet; and brothers, James and Terrell Ledet.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Angelique Cox; son, Antonio Pequeno and his wife, Julie; her sisters, Evette Gaspard (Chris), and Lisa Pitre (Wade); her grandchildren, Victoria Louviere Whiteley (Seth), Jean Pequeno, Isabella Pequeno, Archer Pequeno, and Jaelin Broussard (Sean); her great-grandchildren, Jessa and Josie Broussard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joy enjoyed her water aerobics and attending her pokeno games. She loved watching movies and reading books. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow, from 9:00am to 11:00am. A mass of Christian burial will follow, starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow mass, taking place at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.
