Joyce P. Melancon, 78, a native of Larose, LA and a resident of Lockport, LA, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 and from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Falgout Funeral Home, 600 Church St., Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Donald "Donny" Melancon, Jr. and wife Ursula, Gordon Melancon, Louis Melancon and wife Amber; daughter, Mary Tanner and husband Phillip; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Melancon, Sr.; parents, Louis and Blanche Penney; brothers, William Penney, Walter Penney, Milton Penney; sisters, Doris Boudreaux, Rita Barrios, Ethel Hynyub, Dorothy Fritz and Mabel Penney.
