Joyce Plaisance Guidry

Joyce “Granny” Guidry, 81, a native of Golden Meadow, LA and a resident of Galliano, LA, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Golden Meadow, LA.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Melvin J. Guidry; children, Shane Guidry (Robin), JoMel Guidry Danos, Michelle Malgum (Danny), Michael Guidry (Jackie) and Tige Guidry (Dana); sisters, Winnie P. Breaux and Loyce P. Plaisance; 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lex Guidry (Charmaine); son-in-law, Scott J. Danos; parents, Valture and Emileedda Cheramie Plaisance; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Oleus Guidry and Clemence Marie Terrebonne Guidry; brothers, Harris L. Plaisance and Val “Jr.” Plaisance; sisters, Hazel M. Plaisance, Mercy P. Sarah, Velma P. Gros, Mary P. Rudolph and grandson, Jacob Patrick Terrebonne.
Joyce enjoyed cooking and collecting dolls. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
