Joyce Arabie Darsey, 78, a native of Mathews and resident of Houma, died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Darsey and wife, Barbara, and Gary Darsey; five daughters, Kay Rogers and husband, John, Lynne Tharpe, Lisa Rivere and husband, Karl, Cathy Boudreaux and husband, Timmy, and Kitti Ledet and husband, Bryan; and 30 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elphey "E.J." J. Darsey; her parents, Alton Arabie Sr. and Gertie Arabie; one son, Terry Darsey; two brothers, Alton "Bubby" Arabie Jr. and Allen Arabie; and one sister, Jeanette Fauchaux.
