Joyce Kissock Magee Bergeron, age 86, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, LA, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
Visitation will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Saturday, October 7th from 10 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Karen McCann, grandson, Ryan Chauppette (Angelica); granddaughter, Nicole Chauppette (Christopher); great-grandchildren, Paxton, Addison and Destinee Chauppette, Ashton, Julius and Macee Casbon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Bergeron of 38 years of marriage; daughters, Rhonda Magee Williamson, Michelle Magee Chauppette; sister, Eleanor Kissock Bares; grandson, Jeffry Chauppette; father, Thomas Mark Kissock; mother, Catherine Albertine Dittmar Kissock.
Joyce worked at Hotel Dieu Hospital for 10 years, Ochsner Hospital and TGMC for 2 years, Terrebonne Parish School Board as a cook for 11 ½ years, Homestead Assist Nursing for 8 years as a caregiver.
She loved giving to people in need. She loved doing needle point and made cross in the pocket for the St. Joseph Alter. She will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank Terrebonne General Health System, especially the 5th floor, Angela and Robert Adams with Blooming Orchid and their staff, Lori and Tiger Whitney and Stacy and Bobby Olivier.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to St. Bernadette Catholic Church preferred.
