Joseph Charles "J.C." Plaisance, 94, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be conducted at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport with visitation from 9 am until funeral time on Monday, November 20, 2017, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his daughters, Louise Plaisance Guidry and husband Thomas, and Loretta Plaisance; son, Eric Plaisance and wife Pat; grandchildren, Toby Guidry and companion Margery Thomas, Joey Guidry, Justin Plaisance, and Laura Cortez and husband Kevin Cortez, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Daisy Louise Guidry, Maddox Joseph Eric Plaisance, Tristan Xavier Plaisance, Sydaleigh Anna Cortez and Thomas Joseph "TJ" Cortez.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine Chauvin Plaisance; his parents, Joseph Edward Plaisance and Anna Bourgeois Plaisance; brother, Edward Joseph Plaisance; son, Donald Plaisance; daughter-in-law, Sheila LeBoeuf Guidry and great grandson, Kevin James "KJ" Cortez, III.
J.C. was a Life Member of American Legion Post 83 in Lockport, Life Member of VFW Post 3665 in Raceland, Member of 40/8 Voiture 1038, and charter Board Member of Lafourche ARC. He also volunteered in many other community organizations including the Lockport Fire Department. He was a kind and gentle man who lived his life in service to God, Country and his family.
