Moonie passed away from a debilitating disease, Wegener's. Moonie was a loving husband and father. He never met a stranger and always had a way of making you smile and laugh. He loved to dance. He and Cecile could be found on any dance floor wherever the Treaters were playing. He was always ready to "shake a leg". He danced 'til he couldn't anymore, and his last dance was "Throw away the Key" (Don Rich) with his wife as he told her how much he loved her. Moonie started working on the water at age 12 with his Nunc Dan. After he married, he transitioned from shrimp boats to a supply boat Captain. When he retired from the water, he became a Master Carpenter. He was a perfectionist. He navigated many waters and seen many sunrises and sunsets in his life while looking at the compass for direction for his next Journey in life, making waves astern as he travels open waters as he passes the heavenly gates saying, "I'll see you on the two".
