Joseph Lorraine, Jr.

Joseph "Nonk Joe" L. Lorraine Jr., 88, a native of Cut Off and resident of Golden Meadow, died Friday, July 22, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his companion of 14 years, Joyce Danos; one son, Michael J. Lorraine and wife, Sandra; six grandchildren, Jarrod Lorraine, Jason Lorraine, Crystal Lorraine, Cindy Walker, Dena Bruce and Jad Bruce; five great-grandchildren, James Walker Jr., Carlie Williams, Lainey Lorriane, Ellie Lorraine and Mya Bonvillian; and one son-in-law, Ronald Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Lorraine; his parents, Joseph Sr. and Grace Pitre Lorraine; one granddaughter, Cathy Bruce; one daughter, Emelda Lorraine Bruce; two brothers, Frank and Lindberg Lorraine; and two sisters, Hilda Lafont and Edia Orgeron.
He was a member of Greenhead Club and Holy Name Society. He was a shrimper all his life and he enjoyed dancing and traveling.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
