Joseph A. Fitch, 88, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Prevost Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, David Fitch, Joseph Raymond Fitch and wife, Stacy, Paul Michael Fitch and Rodney Allen Fitch and wife, Jimmie; daughters, Donna Rodrigue, Bonnie Verret and husband, Nolan, Veronica Liner and husband, Glen, Brenda Robichaux and Carol Ricketts and husband, Jeffrey; 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Felician Smith Fitch; parents, Lucien and Elizabeth Dardar Fitch; daughter, Laurie Ann Fitch; brothers, Charles, Dave, Alvin, Chester, Walter and Wickliss "Kip" Fitch; sisters, Rosie Foret, Sadie Verdin, Mabel Ford, Azelia Smith and Albertine Trahan; and one son-in-law, Emile Robichaux.
He was a World War II veteran and a retired boat captain for Marine Towing.
