Joseph "Mr. Joe" Nelson Bergeron, 94, a native and resident of Houma, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Falgout Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo Bergeron Duncan and husband, Charles E. Duncan; sister, Una Mae Bergeron Champagne; granddaughter, Natasha Lynne Duncan McReynolds and husband, Paul; great-grandchildren, Christian and Colin Murphy, and Cayley and Cason McReynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Agnes Ledet Bergeron; parents, Joseph A. and Cecile Stephens Bergeron; brother, Robert A. Bergeron; and sister, Mary Ellen Bergeron Porche.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, a member of the St. Bernadette Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post No. 0031. He loved fishing, crabbing, and going to casinos.
