John J. “Jo Jo” Lirette, 76, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland on Wednesday, April 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Foret Lirette; daughters, Allison (Keith Dufrene) Lirette and Stephanie (Terry) Thibodaux; son-in-law, Jared (Jewel) Eagle; grandchildren, Katie (Jacob) Boudreaux, Ellie (Joseph Hebert) Thibodaux, Chloe Eagle, Ava Eagle and Jude Eagle; great-grandchildren, Jaylie Boudreaux, Kinzlie Boudreaux and Baylie Boudreaux; sisters, Annie Delaune, Cecile Guilliot, Pearl Aysen and Ethel Lirette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Helen LeBouef Lirette; daughter, Celeste Elizabeth Eagle; sister, Rita Loupe.
John was a U. S. Army veteran who proudly served in the Vietnam War.
Jo Jo was a member of LaFourche Fire District #1, American Legion Post 349, VFW Post 3665, Woodman Life, Raceland Grand Marshall Club and Central LaFourche Chain Gang for 35 years.
