Dr. John Adam Hebert, Jr., 78, a native of Raceland, LA passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in hospice care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 04, 2023 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery in Raceland.
Dr. John, Jr. is survived by: 2 Sons, John A. Hebert, III (and wife Donna), and Scott Hebert (and wife Michelle); Grandchildren, John A. Hebert, IV, Connor Hebert, and Noah Hebert; Great-Grandchildren, Charlie-Shea, Carter Kate, and one soon to be born Beckham Kole Hebert; Step Grandchildren, Eric Delatorre and Sarah Stevens; Step Great-Grandchildren, Evelyn and Trip Delatorre; and 1 Sister, Mary Jane Avet.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Hebert; and Parents, Marie and John Adam Hebert, Sr.
Dr. John graduated from Central Lafourche High School and went on to receive his PhD at Louisiana State University in Poultry Science. He began working at LSU after graduation as a professor and worked his way up to department head. He retired after 33 years of service from LSU.
During his retirement years, he and Kathleen enjoyed spending time with family and studying the genealogy of the Hebert and Kraemer families. A highlight was several trips to France where they walked the land of his ancestors.
He became president of the Hebert Association in which he remained active until shortly before his passing.
