John E. Hall Jr., 86, a native of Sturges, Miss. and resident of Houma, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be held at noon Thursday at the church with burial to follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane "DeDe" Terrebonne Hall; daughter, Anita M. Hall of Decatur, Ga.; sons, William "Bill" Hall of Houma, John D. Hall and wife, Lisa, of Angleton, Texas, and Michael Krawic and wife, Chana Wan, of Santa Monica, Calif.; grandchildren, Shanna, Mary Drew and Cameron Hall; sister, Vivian Hall Hannah; sister-in-law, Dorothy Terrebonne Pagliughi; and numerous Pagliughi nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Hall Sr. and Aulena Hunt Hall
After serving in World War II in the Pacific, Guam, Iwo Jima, and China, he graduated from Mississippi State University. He was a Schlumberger engineer for 30+ years. He was a member of KC Council #7355, various military organizations, and Terrebonne-Lafourche Right to Life.
He will be remembered for his faithfulness to family, friends, and church. He had great compassion, humor, and wit.
