John J. "Grunch" Growl, Jr., a native of Luling and a resident of Prairieville and West Monroe, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, November 10, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, LA.
He is survived by his daughter, Anna Growl Valentine (Scott); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sophie, Ethan; brothers, Ronald and Danny Growl; sisters, Norma "Chris" Calvo, April Kinler, Gwen Doherty Mongrue and Joan Growl.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Sr. and Norma Kinler Growl; brother, Rory Growl and sister, Jan Growl.
John liked helping his family and friends. He appreciated the simple things in life, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan.
