GASSEN John B. Gassen, Jr. passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 8:20 AM in Morgan City, LA. Beloved husband of Yolanda Alvarez Gassen and the late Rosina Gassen by first marriage. Father of Rhona Matherne and husband Farley and the late John Louis Gassen. Grandfather of Reice and Chase Matherne. Son of the late John B. Gassen, Sr. and Evelina (Migonne) Gassen. Brother of Ida Lorio and the late Anna Rousselle, Stella Wilson, Florestine Bourg, Sidney Gassen, Sr., Evelina Falgout, Violet Vieth, Emma Boudreaux, Alvin Gassen and T-John Gassen. Age 83 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Many thanks to the staff of Maison Jardin Retirement Community and Journey Hospice. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis, LA on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft, LA.
