Allen John Boudreaux, 80, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Bayou Blue, died at 7 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel in Houma and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Allen "Peat" Boudreaux Jr. and wife, Ann Tidwell, and Michael "Mike" and wife, Deborah Porche all of Bayou Blue; one daughter, Bonnie Lirette and husband, Leavance "Snuddy" of Bayou Blue; greatly missed by his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Dr. Angelique B. Allemand and husband, Jeramie, of Bayou Blue, Michele B. Adams and husband, Ronald, of Raceland, Craig A. Boudreaux and wife, Katie Pitts, of Bayou Blue, Rebecca L. Ellender and husband, Gabe, and Allen J. Lirette and wife, Emily Gautreaux; eight grandchildren, who he loved with all his being, Jordan and Emily Allemand, Cari Plaisance, Dustin and Madison Adams, Jace and Gracie Boudreaux and Brett A. Lirette; four brothers, Adam and wife, Delores, Louis, Donald, and David and wife, Gloria Boudreaux; and two sisters-in-law, Isabelle Navarre and Audrey Devalcourt.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Margie Navarre Boudreaux; his parents, Dennis and Effie Bonvillain Boudreaux; and one brother, Lloyd Boudreaux.

Allen was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He worked for Geophysical Service Inc., a division of Texas Instruments, for 49 years and retired to his fishing camp. He enjoyed his retirement by fishing, gardening and spoiling grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He moved to Bayou Blue where he enjoyed making a garden and raising chickens.
