Jerry Joseph Vedros
October 2, 1934 — August 5, 2023
Jerry J. Vedros, 88, a native and resident of Lockport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church in Raceland from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am with burial to follow in Holy Savior Mausoleum.
Jerry is survived by his 5 children, Cynthia Adams (Wayne Naquin), Glenda Swearingen (Sheffield), Rocklin Vedros (Terri), Debbie Loupe (Stuart) and Timmy Vedros (Donna); 12 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild; 22 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; Geraldine Adams and Paulette Pitre.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mollie Delaune Vedros; parents, Horace and Bertha Vedros; in-Laws, Felix, Jr. and Leona Delaune; great-grandchild, Cullen Loupe; Son-in-law, Harry Adams and brothers, Chester and Lester Vedros.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care in his final days.
