On October 3, 2018, Jerry Joseph Rodrigue, Sr. ended his battle with cancer and entered Heaven while being surrounded by his family. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Houma, LA and spent his life working in the oil field. He enjoyed his two greatest passions fishing and spending time with his family. He was a great father and grandfather, as well as a gentle and kind person that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Janny Robichaux (Jason), Jerry J. Rodrigue Jr. (Krystal), April Rodrigue (Scotty), and Robin Sokolowski (Nathan); his grandchildren, Brooklyn Hawkins (Raymond), Perriann Rodrigue, Nikolas Montana, Hunter Faylee Sokolowski, Cameron Rodrigue, Hannah Howard, Carmen Rodrigue, Madison Robichaux, Sadie Sokolowski, Piper Rodrigue, Danielle Husbands, and Sierra Husbands; and his great-grandchildren, Emma Rodrigue, Khai Rodrigue, Holden Hawkins, and Valerie Montana; as well as siblings, Calvin Rodrigue, Sr. (Lura) and Rosemary Rodrigue Babin (children Pam, Hope, Clarence Jr. ”Buster”). Thank you to Brian and Linda Martin for all the love and support these last few months.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Rodrigue Sr., and mother, Jeanne LeBouef Rodrigue; brothers, Lionel Rodrigue, Earl Rodrigue and Louis Rodrigue Jr.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation at the Schriever Baptist Church, 456 George Rd. on Friday, October 5th starting at 3 pm until 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 9 am with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.
