Jerry Knight, 90, a native and resident of Raceland, Louisiana passed away at his home on Monday, June 20, 2022.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until funeral time on 11:00 am at St. Hilary’s Catholic Church in Raceland, Louisiana. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Hilary’s, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Church cemetery.
Jerry is survived by his children, Paula Paratore and husband, Jay; Patrick Knight and wife, Tammy; Danny Knight and wife, Carol; Darla Torres and husband, Rodney; Bobby Knight and wife, Barbara; Mary Neathery and husband, Terry; and Jerry Knight Jr. and wife, Monica; daughter-in-law Crystal; sister-in-law, Ruby Cortez; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mae Ruth LeBlanc Knight; son, Derrell Knight; parents, James and Lucille Knight; brother, Harold Knight; sisters, Doris Knight and Alzena Knight Elfert; and grand-daughter, Rebekah Torres Carroll.
Jerry was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the multiple KC Family of the Year award winner. He was also an Extra-ordinary Minister of the Eucharist for the church and the homebound. He was a wonderful father and grandfather to many, even to those outside of his immediate family. He was also a very big lover of gardening and dispensing the fruits of his labor to many!
