Jerry J. Blanchard, 67, a native and resident of Houma, died Saturday October 22, 2011 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8-11 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Chatagnier Blanchard; one son, Jerry Joseph "Doobie" Blanchard Jr.; four daughters, Cherie Boudreaux, Tammy Degruise, Tanya Gautreaux and Maria Marcel; two brothers, Virgis Blanchard and Kenneth Michael Blanchard; two sisters, Darlene Amos and Bernadette Pitre; 12 grandchildren, Kristin Nichols, Jordan Pellegrin, Joshua Degruise, Skyler Degruise, Hannah Degruise, Brendan Gautreaux, Blade Blanchard, Caleb Blanchard, Brody Blanchard, Jolby Marcel, Celeste Marcel and Jacob Marcel; two great grandchildren, Xander and Kaedan Nicholls; six step-grandchildren Zack Boudreaux, Baily Boudreaux, Robert Specer Jr., Sammy Spencer, Kadden Spencer, Willie Royal and Dredden Spencer, four son-in-laws, Michael Boudreaux, David Degruise, Craig Gautreaux and Robert Spencer Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Edna Blanchard; and two sisters, Nearlie Smallwood and Geraldine Donaldson.
He worked at M&L Industries for 37 years. He was a parishioner of New Life Fellowship.
