Jerry Ardoin, a native of Ville Platte, a former resident of Houston, Texas and a resident of Houma, was born Nov. 7, 1925 and died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on Oct. 25, 1952, Arabella Fremin Ardoin; three nephews, Richard Paul Ardoin, John Patrick Ardoin and Wayne Atchison; five nieces, Maple Potchernick, Wanda Gaudet, Cheryl Tibo, Helen Boudreaux and Sheila Dupre; one sister-in-law, Beverly Fremin; and one brother-in-law, Burton Whitfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayo and Alex Manuel Ardoin; one brother, Jim Ardoin; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Dene Ardoin; and one nephew, Jim Ray Ardoin.

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

He was a Korean War Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was a member of the St. Bernadette Council of the Knights of Columbus, a third degree member of the Fr. Vandebilt Council, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the VFW Post 8930 in Houston, Texas, and a member of the Order of the Alhambra No. 298.
