Janis Duet Callais

Janis Marie Duet Callais, age 85, a native and resident of Cut Off, LA, passed on Saturday, July 29, 2024.

 No service will be held as mom requested.

 Janis is survived by her daughter, Robin Marie Callais Engel and husband, Scott; sons, Aaron Joseph Callais and wife, Tammy, and Kenneth James Callais and wife, Melissa; brothers, D.L. Duet and Chris Duet; sisters, Linda Cheramie and Cathy Ponville; grandchildren, Ephraim Dakota (Gretel), James (Becky), Christy (James), Micah, Hannah (James), and Caleb; and great-grandchildren, Harper, Jackson, Abigail, Joseph, Jackson, Jonah and Jake.

 Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Dickson Jospeh Callais; parents, Penelton Joseph Duet Sr and Mildred “Bird” Danos Duet; brother, Penelton “Do Do” Joseph Duet Jr. 

 Janis loved being with her kids and grandchildren, and the great grandchildren. She loved reading her Bible, and she enjoyed praying, working in her flowers, painting anything she could put a paintbrush to. She loved crafts and building things with wood and writing in a journal. She will be missed!
