James Joseph (Peepers) Vedros, Sr. passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 75.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Falgout Funeral Home, Lockport, LA and from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
James is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bertha Roussel Vedros; children, Kim Landry (Scott), Jimmy Vedros (Lisa), Mary Dufren (Randy), Cindy Leonard (Bennie); 5 grandchildren, Tissylyn, Hannah, Ryan, Jace and Cole; and 6 great-grandchildren, Jalen, Kamren, Nickoli, Jimmie, Karsen and Rylen; brothers, Jesse (Veronica), Jackie (Lelia), Billy (Julie) and sister in law Nita Vedros as well as many other close family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Gertrude Vedros; and brother, Roy.
Peepers enjoyed riding his Harley as well as camping at Hidden Oaks Family Campground, where he was known as The Governor. He loved to dance and was the life of the party to anyone that knew him.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
