James Emmett Jones, loving husband and father, a native of Albertville, AL and a resident of Houma, La came to earth July 15, 1924 and departed Nov. 17, 2012.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma, La. and from 12 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Erma Jones; two sons, Norman Jones and wife Marguerite and Larry Jones and wife Jan; daughter Rebecca Washington and husband Kenneth; six grandchildren; 6six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lavaine Williams; sister-in-law, Marcy and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Smith and Emma Bishop Jones; daughter, Teresa Jones; 5 brothers, Eldred Jones and wife Emma, Luby Jones and wife Louise, Homer Jones and wife Edith, Warren Jones and wife Wilma, Carlos Jones; three sisters, Christine Hill and husband Travis, Annie Laura West and husband Ben; and Dera Williams.
He served in WWII on the Navy Destroyer Mine Sweeper J. William Ditter. He will be greatly missed by all.
