James Gerard Collins

James Gerard Collins, 61, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024. He was a native of Cut Off and resident of Larose, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. with burial following in church cemetery.

James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Yvonne Guidry Collins; daughter, Tessa C. Jarreau and husband, Bobby; brothers, Paul (Laura) Collins Sr., Patrick Collins, David Collins, and Peter (Shaila) Collins; sister, Emily C. Serigne and husband, Phil; sister-in-law, Kelly D. Nesbett; mother-in-law, Gail Guidry; in-laws, Carl (Maria) Guidry, and Yvette (Sam) Cheramie; grandchildren, Alyssa Jarreau and companion, Connor McClure, and Bryce Jarreau; great-grandchildren, Halle Rayne Jarreau and Brayden Anthony Beavers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Rogers Joseph Collins, Sr. and Ruby Mae Navarre Collins; brother, Rogers Collins, Jr.; and father-in-law, Freddie Guidry.

James was employed with Cannon Compression Services. He was a very hard worker and was well respected. He enjoyed watching the SAINTS and NASCAR, going to the camp, cooking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
