Irma "Mae" Callais Esponge

Irma “Mae” Callais Esponge, 96, a native and resident of Galliano, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, June 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galliano, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Cheramie Cemetery, Galliano, LA.
She is survived by her son; Darryl Esponge (Gladys); daughters, Elaine Fillinich (Dick), Linda Garlington and Marilyn Parks; brother, Andrew Callais, Jr.; sisters, Anna Jane Danos, Lou Ann Lesur and Mary Muse; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Esponge; sons-in-law, Dwaine Garlington and Jerry Parks; grandson, Chase Esponge; parents, Andrew Sr. and Leodie Callias; brothers, Junis, Dudley, George and Dickie Callais and sister, Velma Lackey.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
