Irene P. Griffin, 95, a native and resident of Galliano passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, September 6th from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Hebert Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Griffin; daughters, Betty Duet and Jeanette Griffin; foster daughter, June Pinel; sisters, Ramona Williams and Rita Guidry; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Griffin; parents, Eves and Augusta Plaisance; in-laws, Armand and Olinda Griffin; foster daughter, Geraldine Griffin; daughter-in-law, Joyce C. Griffin; sons-in-law, Penelton “DoDO” Duet and Steve Pinel; brothers, Norman Plaisance, Herman Plaisance, Sr., Landon Plaisance, Eves Plaisance, Jr., Augusta Plaisance and Ernest Plaisance; sisters, Alzina Gisclair and Irma Hartman; grandchildren, Richard Berthelot and Lonny Duet.
