Ida Matherne Grabert, 94, a homemaker and friend to all, passed away at home on Monday, January 22, 2018.
She is survived by her children, Darwyn Grabert (Sylvia), Janis G. Tastet (Roland), Jane G. Lanier and June Grabert; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews. Nanny of Mary St. Amant Cambre and Amy Matherne Bergeron.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert Anthony Grabert; parents, Blanche LeBlanc Matherne and Berthelemy "BoBo" Matherne; sisters, Gertrude Cortez and Euronie "NeNe" St. Amant; brother, Joseph Huey Matherne Sr. and grandson, Michael John Tastet.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society for 70 years, member of the Homemakers Club, Des Allemands (Quilting Club) and a worker for the Catfish Festival of the Universe. She was loved and will be missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 9:00 am until 11:00 am and the funeral mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Highway 631 in Des Allemands, LA. Interment to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery.
