Hubert "Baba" Martin

Hubert "BaBa" Martin, 99, a native of Leeville, longtime resident of Golden Meadow and current resident of Lockport, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Golden Meadow, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Thelma Aucoin and husband Wilson; grandchildren, Joyce Christen and husband Billy, JoAnn Naccio and husband Andrew, Patricia Curole and husband Freddie, Bryan Aucoin and wife Kelly, Sharon Terrebonne and husband Lanny, Collette Williams and husband Tony, Valerie Vizier and husband Chad, Donna Rodriguez and husband Jay, Crystal Martin and husband Louis, Nicole Martin and Jason Martin, 25 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Cheramie Martin; parents, Urban and Lucille Martin; son John Martin; daughters Ameless Plaisance and Barbara Vizier; sons-in-law, Corbett Vizier and Antoine Plaisance; brother, Durel Martin; sisters, Lenore Malgum, Locade Atkinson, Odette Eymard, Thelma Martin and two infant siblings; grandchildren, Lawrence Plaisance, Cindy Martin, Danny Martin; and great granddaughter, Alicia Martin.
Papa was a carpenter who loved his work. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He gave us himself unselfishly for anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans League, dav.org or veterans charity of your choice.
