Houston Adam "Pee" Duthu, 72, a native of Dulac and resident of Houma, died at 1:14 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012.
Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Billiot Duthu; caring father of four sons, Timothy and wife, Tina, of Dulac, Ted and wife, Lydia, Christopher Sr. and wife, Gail, of Houma and Kurt and fiancee, Cathy Stripling, of Nacogdoches, Texas; one daughter, Elvira Duthu Duplantis and husband, Frankie of Houma; 11 grandchildren, Timothy Billiot and fiancee, Amber Bruce, Tilman Duthu and fiancee, Erica Wade, Trevor Duthu, Taylor Duthu, Ted Duthu Jr. and fiancee, Lindsey Cenac, Tangie Duthu, Christy Duthu Guempel and husband, Benjamin, Christopher "Dugan" Duthu Jr. and wife, Ashley, Chris "Chump" Duthu and fiancee, Sierra, Scott Duthu and companion, Irissa, and Franki Jo Duplantis; 11 great-grandchildren, Tristan Billiot, Trayce Billiot, Gamberly Duthu, Benjamin Guempel II, Isabella Guempel, Kyler Domangue, Chrislyn Duthu, Bryson Duthu, Colten Duthu, Liam Duthu and Coby Duthu; three sisters, Mae Smith, Libby Brunet and Rose Christen; and five brothers, Emile Duthu, C.J. Duthu, Raymond Duthu, Myron Duthu and Kevin Christen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Duthu and Rosemary Fazzio Duthu; two brothers, Joseph "Joe" Duthu and infant brother Roland Duthu; three sisters, Rita Duthu Dion, Nora Duthu Fitch and infant sister, Beverly Duthu; and one granddaughter, Dana Duthu.
He was employed as a tugboat captain for Callais & Son of Cut Off, worked for Terrebonne Council on Aging, and was a commercial fisherman. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a Eucharistic minister.
He was a loving caring husband, father and grandfather. Houston will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
