Hilda F. Guidry

Hilda Fanguy Guidry, 91, a native and resident of Larose passed away on Thursday, April 11th, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose from 10:00 am until service time. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon with burial following in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hilda is survived by her sons: Marlon (Vickie) Guidry and Karl (Carolyn) Guidry; grandchildren: Derick (Heidy), Brooke, Drake (Stephanie), Ross, Keary, Douglas; great grandchildren: Jaylynn, Jaycie, Jayden, Jaynie, Raelynn, Coraline, Jasmine, Mia, Rhett, Reid; step-grandchildren: Marc, Tracie; brother: Widley Fanguy; sisters: Carolyn (Freddie) Cooley.

Mrs. Guidry was preceded in death by her husband: Louis”Loy” Guidry; parents: Jules and Edwina Fanguy; and brothers: Donald (Bessie) Fanguy and Aaron Fanguy.

Hilda was a devoted Catholic and served her Church as a Eucharistic Minister, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Altar Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer at the Larose Civic Center. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends especially for the holidays, she loved going on outings with friends and playing Pokeno.

Hilda’s passion and first priority in her life was her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. She will most be remembered for how she shared that love with her family and community.

The family is deeply grateful for the outstanding care and compassion provided by The Oaks of Houma Nursing Home, St. Catherine Hospice and family caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions in Mrs. Hilda’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
