Hewitt "U-Wett" A. Ledet, 93, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, died Friday, July 8, 2011.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor at La Salette Center. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
He is survived by one son. James Anthony Ledet and wife, Nanatte Karbier; three daughters, Joycelyn Ledet Callais and husband, Franklin, Evette Ledet Gaspard and husband, Chris, and Lisa Ledet Pitre and husband, Wade; two brothers, Jesse Ledet and Eugene Ledet Jr.; two sisters, Bea Stiemitz and Felicia Cheramie; and 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Isabel Rebstock Ledet; his parents, Eugene A. Ledet and Lucille Lombas Ledet; one son, Terrel Ledet; two brothers, Enes Ledet and Dure Ledet; and five sisters, Gladys Bouzigard, Hazel Plaisance, Sadie Rhodes, Dorothy Autin and Inez Henry.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
