Hayes J. Portier Sr., 80, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, April 9, 2012.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Hayes Portier Jr. and wife, Kitty, and Troylee J. Portier and wife, Caroline; four grandchildren, Joshua Portier, Sabrina Champagne, Kayla Guise and Holly Portier; three great-grandchildren, Alyson Portier, Landyn Champagne and Sydney Bowen; sister, Ruby Bernard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his first wife, Genevieve Breaux Portier; second wife, Mary Beulah Hebert Portier; parents, Seville and Lillian Portier; four brothers, Alvin, Lawrence, Delvin, and Junius Portier; and two sisters, Mae Hebert and Virginia Bergeron.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
