Harvey "Lay Lay" Cheramie Sr.

Harvey “Lay Lay” J. Cheramie, Sr., 92, a native of the Yankee Canal in Golden Meadow and resident of Grand Isle passed away on June, 2nd, 2024.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano from 10:00 am until service time. His Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral parlor with procession following to his burial at Cheramie Cemetery.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his children: Harry “Chu-Chu” Cheramie (Vivia), Harvey Cheramie Jr., and Darlene Cheramie; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and step children: Audrey Chiasson, Donna Chiasson, Penny Chiasson.

Mr. Cheramie was preceded in death by his wife: Bernice Gisclair Cheramie; children: Steven Cheramie, Michael Cheramie, Billy Cheramie, Rosemary Vegas, Laura Mae Sanomi, Laurie Ann Breaux; and stepson Aubrey Chiasson Jr.

Mr. Harvey was a trapper, oyster fisherman and commercial fisherman all his life.
