Hans Waltherus De Wit, Sr,

Hans Waltherus de Wit, Sr., age 73, a native of Gouda Holland and resident of Houma for the past 27 years, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Mr. de Wit was a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer for Fluor Federal Petroleum Operations Maintenance Department located in New Orleans, LA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Hans was known for his great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Hans was preceded in death by his parents, Waltherus de Wit and Elizabeth in"t Veld, wife, Linda Lee Harlow de Wit, brothers, Ronald Elizabeth de Wit and Waltherus de Wit.
Survivors include, son, Hans Waltherus de Wit, Jr., daughters, Carolina Elizabeth Gautreaux, Angela Renee Harlow, Crystal Patricia Melancon, brothers, Pieter Cornelus de Wit, Bernhard de Wit, Edward de Wit, sisters, Maria Seljaas, Nelltje Maria de Wit – Mol and seven grandchildren, Michael Robert Dunn, Carolina Brook Dunn, Hans Dylan de Wit, Launa Elizabeth Melancon, Nicholas Chance Dunn, Alexis Paige Melancon and Holden Drake de Wit.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Falgout Funeral Home, 211 Westside Blvd. in Houma and again on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from the Falgout Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
