Guilmo Joseph Pitre, 89, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday at Falgout Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Duet Pitre; one son, Kim Pitre and wife, Pixie; two daughters, Cindy Williams and husband, Herman Williams Jr., and Holly Bouzigard and husband, Kelly; one sister, Elda P. Vedros; five grandchildren, Ranata Angelette, Lerin Rogers, Chord Bouzigard, Ryder Pitre and Ian Bouzigard; and three great-grandchildren, Kaden Angelette, Kenley Angelette and Quinn Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramo and Paviola Pitre; and one sister, Melva P. Orgeron.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
