Godfrey A. Plaisance, 69, a native and resident of Raceland, died on Mon. July 9, 2012.
A visitation will be held on Wed. July 11, 2012 from 8:30 am. to Mass time at 12 pm. at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Delaune Plaisance, son, Danny P. Plaisance and wife LeAnne of Abingdon, MD, five daughters, Robin P. Chauvin and husband Ralph of Chauvin, Krystal P. Allemand and husband Andre' of Raceland, Shari P. Porche and husband Rusty of Raceland, Penny P. Gros and husband Jeff of Raceland, Roxann Plaisance and companion Brad Fields of Raceland, three brothers, Nessie, Sedric, Conrad Plaisance, two sisters, Adriel Price, and Effie Romero, twelve grandchildren, Gavin and Blaise Chauvin of Chauvin, Tyler Plaisance of Abingdon, MD., Joshua Allemand of Raceland, Marisa, Callie and Jaiden Porche of Raceland, Renee', Miranda and Rayne Gros of Raceland, Chandler Gros of Raceland, and Kinlie Fields of Raceland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philocles and Josephine Foret Plaisance, four brothers, Cleveland Sr., Warren, Whitney, and Randolph Plaisance, and one sister, Lorraine Nation.
He was a carpenter and plumber and he loved hunting, fishing and traveling.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church.
