Gloria Gravois Hicks

Gloria Gravois Hicks, 94, a native of Edgard and resident of Lockport passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7th, 2021.

A visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home located at 600 Church St, Lockport, LA 70374 on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 from 9:00 am until service time. A Funeral Mass will be held in the funeral parlor at 11:00 am with burial following in Holy Savior Mausoleum.

Gloria is survived by her children: Ted, Ben, John, Paul, Tim, Andy, and Mary; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother: John Mire Gravois, and sister: Maudé G. Cheramie.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband: Edgar L. Hicks, Jr.; parents: François D. Gravois, Sr. and Iola Landry Gravois; brothers: F.D. Gravois, Jr., Jerome J. Gravois, and James Walter Gravois, SJ, and sisters: Cynthia G. LaFontaine and Adele L. Gravois.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holy Savior Catholic School or Church, 201 Church St., Lockport, LA, 70374, are preferred.

Gloria was a graduate of Sacred Heart College and attended the LSU School of Library Science. She found great fulfillment in her many years of service as librarian at Holy Savior School, where the library bears her name. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Holy Savior and the Terrebonne Genealogical Society.
