Gladys Dominique Melancon, 89, a native of Gheens and resident of Raceland joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday November 24, 2013. Visitation will take place on Monday November 25, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 1:00 pm till funeral time. Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 pm with burial following at Holy Savior Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Russell Melancon Jr and wife Gail, Kenneth A. Melancon and wife Vicki, Dale M. Melancon and wife Beverly, and Melvin P. Melancon and wife Jenny, grandchildren Shawn Melancon, Ryan Melancon, Beth Melancon, Ari-Anna Triche, Rusty Melancon, Nick Melancon, Heather Peters, Patrick Melancon, Theresa Guidry, and Matt Melancon and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Melancon Sr., parents Edgar and Albertine Dominique, brothers Armand Dominique, Milton Dominique, and Alvin Dominique and sister Irene Dominique Punch.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking, sewing, and had a green thumb. She will missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of The Broadway for the loving care they provided.
