Gertie Danos Zeringue, 95, a native and resident of Raceland passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015.
Visitation will be held at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland on Tuesday, April 7 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Thibodaux from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Mary's Nativity Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Gary Zeringue and wife Diana Thibodeaux Zeringue; grandson, Corey Zeringue and wife Julie; granddaughter, Nicole Beniot and husband Jason; four great grandchildren, Reese and Paige Beniot, Jack and Finn Zeringue; brother, Euclide Danos, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband , Thomas Zeringue; parents, Euclide Danos and Clara Breaux Danos; son, Philton Thomas Zeringue; daughters, Betty Ann Zeringue, Nancy Marie Zeringue and Theresa Ann Zeringue; brothers, Clarence Danos, Norman Danos, Norris Danos and Nolan Danos.
She was a loving, wonderful and caring mother mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be sadly missed.
She was a retired cook from Lafourche Parish School Board after 16 years. She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Ladies Alter Society, Raceland American Legion Auxiliary, Raceland V.F.W. Auxiliary and a volunteer for many organizations.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Audubon Health & Rehab for the care given Gertie during the past 2 ½ years and the staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
