Gerald Detillier, 85, a native of Lutcher, and resident of Mathews, died at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Resurrection Memorial Park Cemetery in Mathews.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Babin Detillier; sons, Milton Detillier and wife, Mae, and Michael Detillier and wife, Linda; brother-in-law, Adam Rodrigue; sisters, Lorita Loupe and husband, Albert Jr., Juanita Detillier, and Deanie Rodrigue and husband, Gene Jr.; and grandchildren, Kimberly Westmoreland and husband, Jordan, Stephanie Detillier and fiance, Clyde Verdin, Paul Detillier and Miguel Detillier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovelace and Beulah Folse Detillier; brother, Milton Detillier; and sister, Lois Rodrigue.
He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 8840, American Legion and V.F.W.
He loved singing in the church choir and gardening.
